Full Job Description

CNC Machinist
Location: Keene, NH
Schedule: Monday – Thursday
1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Position Overview
Join a long-standing, growing company in the optics industry and build a rewarding career in precision manufacturing. We are seeking CNC Machinists who are interested in working with advanced equipment to produce high-precision optical components.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC diamond turning, grinding, and polishing equipment.
Manufacture high-precision optical components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Perform precision measurements using various metrology and inspection equipment.
Manually clean optical surfaces using approved solvents, wipes, and procedures.
Collect, analyze, and report production data using basic math and statistical principles.
Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE, including safety glasses and gloves.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Follow established quality procedures to ensure components meet required specifications.

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of machining experience in a production environment.
Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery.
Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
Comfortable using computers for data entry and reviewing documents.
Experience using metrology equipment to inspect precision components.
Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
May involve exposure to chemicals and solvents.
Must be comfortable wearing required PPE, including safety glasses and gloves.
Ability to work in a precision manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
