Are you an experienced Medical Billing Specialist looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, patient-focused medical practice? We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated professional with a strong background in revenue cycle management and medical billing to join our team.

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our practice by:

Posting charges and releasing claims accurately and efficiently
Entering insurance and patient payments
Reviewing, correcting, and appealing denied claims
Following up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims
Ensuring timely submission of claims, statements, and billing reports
Reading and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
Communicating with providers, coders, medical assistants, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues
Researching insurance policies and coverage guidelines
Utilizing payer portals such as Navinet and Availity to verify eligibility, authorizations, referrals, and claim status
Maintaining accurate account records and ensuring reimbursement benchmarks are met
Participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvements
Performing additional duties as assigned by management

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience
ENT billing experience
Accounts Receivable (A/R) follow-up experience
Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding
Experience working with insurance claims, denials, and appeals
Familiarity with medical terminology
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Experience using practice management software and payer websites (Navinet, Availity)
Ability to interpret insurance medical policies and EOBs
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Professional demeanor and commitment to teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

Medicaid billing experience
Otolaryngology coding experience
Workers' Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) billing experience
In-house chart auditing experience
Experience filing successful claim appeals to maximize reimbursement
Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry education

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma required

Work Location

Hybrid working schedule after successful completion of in-person (in-office) training
