Full Job Description

Pure Water Service Group is a small, close-knit team built on integrity, accountability, and a shared commitment to delivering clean water solutions to the communities we serve. We are growing our portfolio of water service businesses, and we believe the best outcomes come from people who take ownership of their work and care about doing it well.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed Accounting Manager to own our day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. As a small and growing company, we need someone who is comfortable building and improving processes — not just following them. This role is responsible for maintaining rigorous financial disciplines, executing a clean month-end close, and producing a comprehensive reporting package, while supporting leadership with financial analysis including during acquisition due diligence. You will work directly with our leadership team and external CPAs with real visibility into the health and direction of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

Daily & Weekly Discipline

Sync field service platforms (ServiceTitan, Ramp) to QuickBooks Online daily
Review AR and AP aging weekly; confirm cash availability and process vendor payments
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards weekly; maintain and update 13-week cash flow forecast
Review open work orders not yet invoiced and follow up on outstanding AR weekly

Month-End Close & Accruals

Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts through month-end; lock prior period in QBO
Record revenue accruals, accrue expenses (payroll taxes, commissions, subcontractors, unpaid wages), and adjust inventory and fixed assets
Record AR/AP accruals, prepaid expenses, loan interest, customer deposits, and EBITDA add-backs
Reconcile intercompany balances; target close by Day 10 and financials issued by Day 15

Acquisition Due Diligence

Support M&A activity by preparing financial summaries, normalizing historical financials, and organizing data rooms
Analyze target financials for risks and adjustments; assist with post-acquisition accounting integration

Reporting, KPIs & Tax Coordination

Produce monthly reporting package (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, AR/AP Aging, Revenue & Gross Margin by Category, Headcount, Debt Summary, 13-Week Forecast, KPI Dashboard)
Monitor key metrics — gross margin by segment, payroll as % of revenue, EBITDA margin, cash trends, and debt covenants — and communicate variances to leadership
Serve as primary liaison with external CPAs; prepare and organize all workpapers and supporting documentation for tax filings across all entities

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of month-end close
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; experience with multi-entity structures preferred
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
Experience maintaining cash flow forecasts and coordinating with external CPAs
Familiarity with field service platforms (ServiceTitan or similar) a plus
Comfortable operating in a small company where priorities shift and processes are still being built
High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to manage deadlines independently

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
A CPA license is not required for this role, but candidates with prior experience in a CPA firm will be strongly considered
Experience supporting M&A due diligence or working within a private equity-backed or multi-location business
Familiarity with expense management platforms such as Ramp
Experience in home services, field services, or water treatment industries

Compensation

Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
Performance Bonus: Up to 30% of base salary
