Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing the billing process, and ensuring seamless revenue cycle management. Your expertise will help optimize insurance claim processing, improve cash flow, and support the delivery of quality patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge electronic health record (EHR) systems and contribute to efficient healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes in accordance with medical coding guidelines.
Prepare and submit insurance claims using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes and coordinate with third-party payers for resolution.
Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and health insurance requirements.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation for proper coding and billing accuracy.
Monitor revenue cycle management activities, including billing, coding audits, and reconciliation of accounts receivable.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, health insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure compliance.

Skills

Proficiency in ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT coding, DRG classification, and medical coding guidelines.
Strong knowledge of health insurance claim processing, third-party billing, and revenue cycle management.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems for electronic health record management related to billing and coding.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and inpatient/outpatient coding practices.
Ability to navigate billing software efficiently while adhering to healthcare compliance standards.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing complex medical data.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and insurance providers.
