Full Job Description

Overview
Our neurodiversity-affirming pediatric sensory gym is seeking a FULL TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST for fall 2026 start (earlier for the right candidate), where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to promote independence and enhance developmental skills. Your passion for pediatric care and commitment to improving patient outcomes will drive positive change across diverse settings, including our state of the art sensory gyms/clinics, schools, and community-level engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for a new or recent graduate to foster growth in neurodiverse children and families within a dedicated interdisciplinary team of OT, SLP and ABA.

Duties

Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric patients to identify developmental delays and functional limitations
Develop and implement individualized care plans focused on improving motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities (ADLs)
Assist children with disabilities in mastering essential skills for daily life and participation in school or community activities
Collaborate with our interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, educators, and applied behavior therapists—to coordinate holistic care strategies
Support families through education on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment use, and discharge planning processes
Manage case documentation diligently, including progress notes, treatment plans, and outcome assessments

More About Us:

Our clinic provides collaborative, relationship-based pediatric services across clinic, sensory gym, community, and school-based settings.
In addition to our outpatient work, we maintain several partnerships with local charter schools, allowing clinicians to gain experience across a variety of therapeutic environments. Full-time employment will include both school-based and clinic-based therapy, evaluations, parent collaboration, and interdisciplinary treatment planning.
We are seeking a therapist with warmth, curiosity, flexibility, and a strong desire to learn within a highly collaborative and mentorship-oriented environment. Positive energy, professionalism, and a “can-do” attitude are essential.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position requires a 2-year commitment to support professional development and continuity of care for our clients and families. Entry-level therapists will receive structured mentorship, supervision, and support designed to promote confidence, clinical reasoning, and growth within pediatric practice.

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid and current Occupational Therapy license issued by the State of New Jersey, or eligibility for licensure pending completion of board requirements.
NBCOT certification preferred or pending.
Basic knowledge and competent performance of foundational occupational therapy practices, including pediatric evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, and therapeutic intervention strategies as acquired through professional graduate training and fieldwork experience.
Ability and willingness to learn and implement clinic policies, procedures, and treatment philosophies within a structured onboarding and mentorship process.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills at a professional level, including clinical writing, professional correspondence, family education, and collaboration with colleagues and community professionals.
Ability to work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including OTs, SLPs, ABA providers, psychologists, educators, and families in a manner that reflects our mission of holistic, family-centered care.
Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to work independently while also appropriately seeking mentorship, support, and feedback. Strong professional judgment, ethical decision-making, confidentiality, and discretion are expected at all times.
Demonstrated openness to mentorship, supervision, and professional growth. Ability to reflect on feedback and integrate new learning into clinical practice.

Compensation:
Salaried position with benefits

Schedule:

Tuesday through Saturday position (Transitioning to Monday-Friday after first 9 months)
Tuesday-Friday: approximately 9:00am-5:30pm
Saturdays (September through June): approximately 8:00am-2:00pm
