What We are Looking For: We are seeking compassionate caregivers who feel a genuine calling to serve during the afternoon and evening hours. Those who understand that the later part of the day is often when individuals with dementia experience increased confusion, restlessness, or anxiety — and that these hours require patience, attentiveness, and a calming presence.

At least one year of professional caregiving experience (i.e working in assisted living, nursing home, etc.)
Hands-on experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia (strongly preferred)
A patient, calm, and dependable nature — especially during moments of confusion or agitation
A genuine passion for serving the elderly, infirm, and those living with dementia
A positive attitude and strong sense of reliability and accountability
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also functioning independently overnight

Job Summary: The 3pm–7pm shifts are not simply “end of day” coverage. They are vital moments to protect dignity, provide reassurance, and ensure safety as routines transition into evening. Being present during this time — offering calm guidance, comfort, and steady support — is deeply meaningful work.

This is not simply a job to fill time. It is an opportunity to stand in the gap for someone who may feel overwhelmed, disoriented, or unsettled as the day winds down — and to be the steady presence that brings them peace.

Providing attentive supervision and support during late afternoon and evening hours, when confusion or restlessness may increase
Assisting with toileting, hygiene, incontinence care, and preparation for evening routines or bedtime
Supporting residents during dinner service, including cueing, encouragement, and monitoring for safety
Offering calm redirection and reassurance during dementia-related behaviors, especially during “sundowning” hours
Responding promptly and compassionately to resident needs
Assisting with safe transfers, mobility, and repositioning as needed
Preparing residents for bedtime, including comfort measures to promote a peaceful transition into the night
Documenting observations and communicating any changes in condition to the appropriate team members
