Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining tools and contribute to innovative manufacturing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Operate, set up, and program CNC machinery such as lathes and milling machines using G-code and M-code for precise manufacturing.
Interpret complex mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to develop and optimize machining programs.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and setup adjustments to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and work orders in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and mills, with proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD concepts for part design review.
Experience with CAM programming for efficient toolpath creation on CNC machines.
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and manual machining techniques.
Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Ability to interpret GD&T specifications accurately for quality control purposes.
Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine setup adjustments.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in machining operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
