The Opportunity:

Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Development & Events Coordinator to support the organization’s fundraising and community engagement efforts. In this role, you will coordinate and execute fundraising events, secure corporate sponsorships, support grant writing initiatives, and assist with donor cultivation strategies while helping advance Whittier’s mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to Boston’s diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead coordination and execution of special events including venue planning, vendor management, volunteer recruitment, sponsorship tracking, and event logistics
Identify, solicit, and steward corporate sponsorships and maximize individual sponsorship and ticket revenue
Cultivate new corporate partners while strengthening existing sponsor relationships
Support annual fundraising strategy, including cultivation and recognition of high-level donors
Assist with grant research, writing, and submissions in collaboration with program and finance teams
Coordinate donor engagement activities such as organizational tours and small cultivation events
Collaborate with external public relations partners to implement marketing and community engagement initiatives
Track event outcomes and contribute to overall fundraising goals and development planning

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of two years of nonprofit development or fundraising experience
Demonstrated success planning and executing five-figure (or greater) fundraising events
Proven ability to increase event-based revenue
Working knowledge of Boston’s corporate philanthropic community strongly preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), graphic design tools, and donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge)
Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Commitment to advancing health equity and community well-being
