Coborn’s, Inc. also owns and operates liquor stores under the Coborn’s Liquor, Cash Wise Liquor, Andy’s Liquor, and Captain Jack’s brands. In addition, we operate fuel kiosks and convenience store locations under the Little Dukes and Coborn’s Express names. Many of our grocery stores also feature full-service pharmacies to support the health and wellness of our guests. To support our diverse retail operations, we operate our own central bakery, fresh foods commissary, and grocery warehouse and distribution center.
We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Facilities Service Technician II to help keep our retail stores and support facilities safe, functional, and looking their best. In this role, you'll tackle a wide variety of maintenance and repair projects, from carpentry and equipment repairs to plumbing, flooring, lighting, and more.

As a Facilities Service Technician II, you'll provide maintenance and repair support across Coborn's retail and support locations. Your responsibilities will include:

Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, wall coverings, shelving, cabinetry, doors, trim, and other finishing work.

Diagnose and repair equipment found throughout retail and support facilities, including slicers, balers, fryers, ovens, and other equipment.

Complete limited electrical repairs, such as replacing lamps and ballasts and installing light sockets.

Perform plumbing repairs, including work on misting systems and reverse osmosis (RO) water systems.

Repair and maintain flooring, including vinyl composite tile (VCT), ceramic tile, carpet, and vinyl base.

Perform minor repairs to roofs, parking lots, and sidewalks.

Complete light welding on carts and other equipment as needed.

Perform general painting and finishing work.

Assist with furniture and equipment moves and relocations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Support additional maintenance projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

Two years of related maintenance, facilities, construction, or repair experience preferred.

Experience using hand tools and small power tools.
-
General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, equipment repair, flooring, and basic electrical work.
Skills & Abilities
-
Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical maintenance and repair problems.
-
Ability to follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
-
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, and other basic computer systems.
-
Experience with an asset management or work-order system is preferred.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members, leaders, vendors, and others throughout the organization.

Local and regional travel is required to support Coborn's locations.
-
Travel may be required up to 25% of the time, with overnight travel up to 10% of the time.

Regular and prompt attendance is required.
-
Must be available for overtime as business needs require.
-
A current driver's license and valid insurance are required, along with the ability to travel to business locations as needed.
This is an active, hands-on position. Team members must be able to:

Frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds to shoulder height without assistance.

Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds to waist height without assistance.

Regularly stand and walk for the duration of a shift.
-
Occasionally sit, stoop, climb, or balance.
-
Use hands and fingers for grasping, handling tools and materials, fine manipulation, and reaching.

Work around moving mechanical equipment as needed.
-
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work in active retail, maintenance, remodel, and construction environments where noise levels may range from moderate to very loud.
Safety is an important part of this role. The Facilities Service Technician II is expected to follow safe work practices, immediately report unsafe conditions, participate in required safety training, and follow all applicable dress and personal protective equipment requirements.
