Direct Hire Opportunity Salary 85-95K per year based on experience

Production Manager – Job Description

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations at the facility to ensure products are produced safely, on time, at the required quality, and within cost targets. This role provides direct leadership to production teams while driving Lean manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce backlog, and improve operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution: • Plan, schedule, and manage daily production activities to meet customer demand and business requirements. • Drive execution discipline to stabilize daily manufacturing performance and improve throughput. • Balance labor, materials, and equipment availability to optimize production flow. • Partner with Supply Chain and Maintenance to reduce downtime and material shortages. Leadership & People Management: • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly employees. • Establish clear performance expectations focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. • Foster employee engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: • Lead Lean initiatives focused on waste reduction and productivity improvement. • Implement, maintain, and audit 5S standards. • Facilitate Kaizen and continuous improvement activities. Safety, Quality & Compliance: • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance. • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality system requirements. • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions. Performance Management & Reporting: • Track and analyze KPIs including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. • Drive corrective actions when targets are missed.

Qualifications

Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of manufacturing experience with supervisory or management responsibility. • Hands-on Lean manufacturing and 5S experience. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: • Experience working in ISO 9001 environments. • Experience in constrained or high-mix manufacturing.
