Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support the organization’s financial health and provide clear, timely financial reports that inform strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a organization that values precision, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry of journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis using accounting software.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Process payroll and handle accounts payable and receivable with meticulous attention to detail.
Maintain accurate records of transactions in spreadsheets and accounting systems following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
Conduct account reconciliation activities including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure all accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
Prepare financial reports by compiling data from various sources, ensuring clarity and compliance with accounting standards.
Assist with audit preparations by providing supporting documentation for financial report writing and account analysis tasks.

Skills

Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms.
Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and public accounting standards.
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10 key typing skills, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and accounts payable/receivable management.
Deep understanding of financial concepts including GAAP compliance, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints.
Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
