Blue Springs Metals, located in Blue Springs, Mississippi, has an opportunity for a Production Control Coordinator on 2nd shift. The hours are Sun-Thurs 6 pm/2:45 am. This position will be coordinating the sampling, transferring, and processing of material to maintain finished inventory levels and fill customer orders.
The successful candidate should be able to work independently and pay attention to detail. Oracle/JD Edwards would be a plus.

We are a Tier 1 and a Tier 2 and Tier 3 to many other automotive suppliers. Our major customers are the automotive and the oil and gas industries. Our major suppliers are domestic and foreign integrated steel mill and mini mills.
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Production Control Coordinator - 2nd shift (Sun - Thurs 6pm/2:45am)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work order verification (after processing)
- File completed work orders
- Perform coil tag spec check
- Update coil status (after spec check complete)
- Prepare shipping documents
- Assist as needed with preparing processing schedule
- Assist as needed with checking work order accuracy
- Assist as needed with monitoring coils to ensure FIFO is followed
- Assist as needed with performing Mill Cert Check
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two year degree from a college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use perform data entry and use various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows, etc).
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to walk distances within the warehouse.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
