Full Job Description

About the role

The IT Support Technician is the first point of contact for incoming client support requests. You own the front of the queue. You respond, you triage, you resolve what falls in your lane, and you get everything else to the right person with the context they need to keep moving.

This is a good fit for someone who has worked a helpdesk queue and wants to do it well, not just fast. You will touch a wide range of client environments and technologies, and you will learn quickly.

What you'll do

Monitor the service queue during business hours
Make sure every incoming ticket gets a real human response within SLA
Triage and route: self-assign basic support, escalate elevated or specialty requests
Resolve basic and standard support requests within defined scope
Assess ticket severity independently and act on it
Document your work thoroughly in the ticket before you close or escalate
Communicate clearly with end users from first contact through resolution

Tools you'll use

Autotask (PSA) for ticket management and documentation
NinjaRMM for remote monitoring and endpoint management
Microsoft 365 for user-level administration
IT Glue for client environment documentation

What great looks like

Every ticket gets a human touch inside SLA
Triage decisions are fast, accurate, and consistent
Escalations reach Tier 2 with detailed notes, so the receiving tech knows exactly what was tried and why
End users feel heard, informed, and confident their issue is being handled

What we're looking for

One or more years in a helpdesk or IT support environment preferred
Comfortable with Windows, Microsoft 365, and common end-user troubleshooting
Clear written and verbal communication
Sound judgment about when to solve and when to escalate
