Barrier Island Parks Society, BIPS in Boca Grande, FL is seeking a full-time onsite Program and Event Coordinator. Learn more about BIPS at www.BIPS.org

Strong people, communication, organizational, and office skills, including computer, data entry, analytical and experience in MS Word and Excel are a must. Prior teaching, non-profit and MS Publisher, Canva or similar graphic design experience preferred.

This position is mostly Monday – Friday but can include a few weekends and nights dependent on program and events. Flex hours are available. Must have your own transportation. Ideal candidate is a quick learner and a strong communicator who maintains a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

*Compensation: $19 per hour & Gasparilla Island Bridge Tolls are paid for work commute. Paid vacation after first year.

Primary Job Description: Program and Event Coordinator
The Program and Event Coordinator is expected to be a professional, organized, timely, helpful, responsible, and dedicated team member who follows all policy and procedures as outlined by the organization. Below are the primary tasks he/she is expected to perform:

Create the internal/external Program and Event Calendar with BIPS’ team
Manage BIPS events and programs and coordinate volunteer support
Manage rental space for lectures
Manage inventory for programs, events and lectures
Coordinate volunteer training and calendar
Create marketing items including flyers, brochures and BIPS Program Guide with support from BIPS’ team
Create/Update Program and Event Summaries
Create/Ensure Program and Event Flyers are created, posted on online media, and distributed to the local community on and off island
Create press releases, articles, and eblasts when needed for events and programs
Coordinate with Social Media Manager to ensure full PR/Marketing coverage for all programs and events
Answer and return calls in a timely manner
Check and respond to all assigned emails daily
Face-to-face queries with the public
Keep office binders and file systems updated and organized
Weekly and monthly reports as requested
All necessary tasks to support BIPS' Executive Director, Board and Staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
