Full Job Description

Job Overview

The line cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food for members, guests, banquets, private events, and other club functions. This position works closely with the Chef, culinary staff, and front-of-house team to ensure that food is prepared accurately, consistently, safely, and in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, team-oriented, and able to maintain high standards in a professional country club environment. The Line Cook must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail, cleanliness, food quality, and presentation.

Flexible scheduling is available. Hours may vary based on club dining operations, banquets, weddings, private parties, holidays, and other special events.

Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, presentation standards, and chef instructions.
Work assigned stations, which may include grill, sauté, fry, pantry, garde manger, breakfast, banquet, or other kitchen areas.
Prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, soups, starches, salads, and other menu components as assigned.
Follow proper cooking temperatures and techniques to ensure food quality and safety.
Maintain consistency in taste, appearance, portion size, and presentation.
Review daily menus, specials, banquet event orders, and chef instructions before service.
Complete assigned prep work before the start of each meal period or event.
Ensure all ingredients and supplies needed for service are properly stocked and readily available.
Communicate immediately with the Chef or supervisor regarding shortages, quality concerns, equipment problems, or other issues that could affect service.
Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, portioning, storage, and rotation procedures.

Line & Station Responsibilities

Set up assigned workstation before each shift and ensure the station is fully stocked and ready for service.
Maintain an organized and sanitary workstation throughout the shift.
Monitor food levels and replenish ingredients as necessary.
Coordinate with other cooks to ensure all components of an order are completed and served together.
Read and follow food tickets accurately while maintaining appropriate ticket times.
Respond professionally to special requests, modifications, and dietary needs as communicated by the Chef or service team.
Properly break down, clean, sanitize, and restock the station at the end of each shift.

Food Safety & Sanitation

Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
Wash hands regularly and follow proper personal hygiene standards.
Prevent cross-contamination by following proper food handling procedures.
Store food at appropriate temperatures and in designated areas.
Properly label, date, cover, and rotate food products using established rotation procedures.
Monitor refrigeration, freezer, and hot-holding temperatures as assigned.
Maintain clean cutting boards, utensils, knives, equipment, and food preparation surfaces.
Follow proper procedures when handling raw meat, poultry, seafood, and ready-to-eat foods.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, spoiled products, pest concerns, injuries, or equipment problems to management.
Follow club procedures regarding allergens and special dietary requests.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen throughout the entire shift.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
