Full Job Description

We are looking for:

Hard-working Prep Cook/Line Cook to assist in the preparation and execution of simple, scratch-made and delicious dishes in the kitchen.
Routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes and executing menu items during service.
Line cook experience required.
Diligent, hard-working, good communicators.
Team players.
People who are great at following instructions, especially concerning health & safety.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

Our kitchen is a one man kitchen except during peak hours, so must enjoy working solo.

Responsibilities

Follow the prep list to plan duties
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as making chili, carmelizing onions, cheese sauce etc.
Prepare simple builds such as sandwiches, salads, appetizers etc.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Must be able to stand on feet for 7 hours
Must be able to lift 20 lbs

Skills

Quick worker and learner
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen or easily taught
Ability to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils or easily taught
A team player with good communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
On time
