Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recovery Coach to empower individuals on their journey to wellness and sustained recovery. In this vital role, you will serve as a mentor, advocate, and support system for clients navigating behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help foster hope, resilience, and independence among diverse populations. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a dynamic, supportive team committed to recovery and social justice. The work hours are flexible and created by you, from 10 hours per week and up to 40, you decide the balance in your life needed. Regular IBADCC supervision by a Certified Recovery Coach Supervisor keeps you supported and in compliance.

Duties

Provide support and mentorship to clients, sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation
Develop and maintain relationships with members to provide a safe, supportive environment for them to share their experiences
Advocate for the rights and needs of each program recipient in accordance with state and federal regulations
Review individualized wellness recovery plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies every 90 days
Assist clients in crisis management, ensuring safety and stabilization during challenging moments
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while respecting confidentiality standards
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including mental health professionals, social workers, and addiction specialists—to coordinate care
Advocate for clients’ needs within culturally diverse communities, promoting access to resources and community integration
Participate in regular supervision
Complete trainings and maintain certification
Follow the Idaho code of Recovery Coach Ethics and Professional Conduct

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or co-occurring disorders is highly preferred
IBADCC Certified as a Recovery Coach or a Provisional Certification for Recovery Coaching in the state of Idaho
Knowledge of crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, and behavioral health principles
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively and empathetically
Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations with sensitivity and respect
Strong in own Recovery
Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
Ability to meet with assigned Peers in their home, the community, or the office setting
Able to pass a background check or possess an approved waiver
