Under limited supervision, the Accountant 2 provides support to more experienced personnel by performing accounting assignments, moderately difficult to complex in nature, requiring a broad knowledge of accounting theory and principles.

What You Can Expect:

Provides support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining accounting policies and fiscal controls and preparing financial reports.
Assists with the organization’s budgeting and financial reporting process for the purpose of improving financial performance and efficiency.
Assists department leaders on variances from budget/actual.
Provides functional and technical direction to other staff members.
Provides technical support to outside auditors and governmental program auditors, as requested.
Supports and helps lead the build-out and implementation of new financial systems and processes.
Process daily transactions for member accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
Assist with month end journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepares work papers and reports for annual financial statement audit, as requested.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors or equivalent experience in lieu of
Experience: 4 years relevant experience.
Licenses/Certifications: None

Preferred Qualifications:

Health insurance/insurance industry experience
Medicare Advantage experience
Public Accounting experience
CPA
