Full Job Description

Director - Substation Design

Full time, Direct Hire.

Ideal candidate bring a mix of hands-on substation design experience as well as experience managing a team of engineers.

Must Haves:

10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering
3+ years of substation experience. Could be substation design work or substation field operations work
3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
Needs to have managed 5+ people at a time
Experience managing multiple projects at a time
Strong working knowledge of the technical fundamentals of substation design - should be able to facilitate technical conversations and identify potential design issues
Ex: System voltage, load demand, utility standards and regulatory requirements, Single-Line diagrams, transformers, circuit breakers, switch gears, etc.
Engineering Bachelor's Degree
Very strong communication and leadership skills

Plusses:

Electrical Engineering degree
Experience working in the utilities industry
Focus on high voltage substation design (up to 500KV)
