Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Weekend Postpartum Hospital Rounder (Saturday & Sunday 7a-11a) —NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician Assistant)—to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work weekends, ensuring postpartum patients receive comprehensive assessments, ongoing monitoring, and coordinated care during their hospital stay. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will deliver critical support in postpartum recovery, address patient needs promptly, and contribute to positive health outcomes. Your expertise will help foster a safe, supportive environment for new mothers and their families while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough postpartum patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and mental status evaluations.
Manage acute pain and provide appropriate interventions to ensure patient comfort and safety.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with hospital protocols.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner) for accurate documentation of patient encounters, data collection, and progress notes.
Triage patient concerns efficiently during rounds, prioritizing urgent needs and facilitating timely interventions.
Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of follow-up care to promote optimal recovery outcomes.

Requirements

Valid NP or PA license with current certification to practice in a hospital setting.
Proven experience in postpartum care, hospital medicine, or critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic
Strong clinical skills in physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, and medication prescribing within scope of practice.
Experience with acute pain management, ventilator management (if applicable), and infectious disease care preferred.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Ability to work effectively during weekends with flexibility to adapt to hospital schedules; excellent communication skills are essential for team collaboration.
