Job Overview

SavorWell is a private chef and meal prep business specializing in elevated food for private clients, weekly meal prep subscribers, and catered events. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Personal Chef/Meal Prep Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the business. The role will involve working directly alongside the chef as well as independently handling prep, meal production, packaging, deliveries, and event support as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist with weekly meal prep, including portioning, packaging, and labeling meals to each client's specifications
Prep ingredients under the chef's direction, including chopping, marinating, sauces, and mise en place
Complete assigned prep and kitchen tasks independently while maintaining SavorWell's standards for quality and consistency
Pack and load coolers and meal containers for deliveries, and assist with deliveries throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island as needed
Support on-site private events and catering, including setup, cooking assistance, service, breakdown, and cleanup
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and follow proper food safety and sanitation practices
Track and restock ingredients, prep containers, packaging materials, and other kitchen supplies
Help ensure meals are consistently prepared, portioned, packaged, and presented to SavorWell's standards
Represent SavorWell professionally and courteously when interacting with clients during deliveries and events

Requirements

Experience in food prep, line cooking, catering, or meal-prep kitchen work
Food handler certification, or willingness to obtain one
Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for deliveries and travel to events
Ability to follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and prep instructions accurately and consistently
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including lifting coolers and trays, standing for extended periods, and occasional early-morning prep days
Flexible availability, including some weekends for private events
Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable working in clients' homes and handling their food
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take direction while also working independently when needed

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 12.0 per week

Work Location: In person
