Full Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Artful Life Counseling Center & Studio with locations in Salem MA & Beverly MA is a local, women owned, community-based group practice offering a creative and relational alternative to the corporate mental health model. As we continue to grow intentionally, we are seeking experienced, independently licensed clinicians who are interested in combining direct clinical work with clinical supervision and mentorship.

This role is ideal for clinicians who value community-based practice, want to contribute to the development of newer clinicians, and are looking for a meaningful alternative to both corporate mental health systems and the isolation of solo private practice.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

We are expanding our supervisory team to ensure that provisionally licensed clinicians receive high-quality, ethical, and well-supported supervision. We believe strong supervision protects clients, clinicians, and the integrity of our field and we invest in it accordingly. This is a leadership role within a mission-driven practice, not a productivity-at-all-costs position.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

Independently licensed in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or PsyD)
Meet Massachusetts eligibility requirements to provide clinical supervision based on license type
Possess the clinical maturity, judgment, and communication skills required to support provisionally licensed clinicians
Value mentorship, ethical practice, anti-oppression and relational depth
Prefers working within a local, community-centered group practice rather than operating alone
Aligned with a non-corporate approach to mental health care

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Clinical Work & Caseload Expectations

Full-Time Supervisors typically book 23 sessions per week and average 20 completed sessions
Part-Time Supervisors typically book 16 sessions per week and average 13 completed sessions
Provide trauma-informed, relationship-based care to children, teens, and adults
Work primarily in person, with some telehealth flexibility as appropriate

Supervision & Leadership

Provide weekly individual supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians
Provide coverage as needed when other supervisors are away
Review and co-sign clinical documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and payer standards
Support supervisees’ clinical growth, confidence, and professional development
Participate in supervisor and leadership meetings as part of a collaborative supervisory team
Model ethical decision-making, sustainable caseload management, and professional boundaries
Serve as a steady, supportive presence for newer clinicians navigating early licensure and practice

You will not be responsible for billing, credentialing, intake coordination, or administrative management, those systems are fully supported.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range of $80,000–$100,000 depending on caseload and sessions averaged
Higher supervisory rate for supervision and leadership responsibilities
Bi-weekly pay and bonus opportunities
Benefits for full-time clinicians including PTO, paid holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, and retirement contributions
Paid administrative time for required meetings and supervisory responsibilities
