Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a passion for culinary excellence, as well as the capability to supervise kitchen staff effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
Needs food manager license and fluent English
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
Participate in food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes during service hours.
Monitor kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality of food production.

Experience

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef or in a similar position within a restaurant setting.
Smoking barbecue experience and 2 years minimum experience in quality casual restaurants.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and kitchen management practices.
Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership skills to motivate staff effectively.
Familiarity with inventory control processes and food safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.
