Full Job Description

Pottorff, founded in 1928, is a leading manufacturer of life safety and air control products for the HVAC industry. Work environment is HVAC climate controlled.

We're looking for someone with fabrication experience with an emphasis on combination welding. Weld test will be required as well as a background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for fabrication of stainless-steel material which will include shear operation, press brake operation, welding, and assembly of product.
Position will also be responsible for quality of product through all steps of operation.
Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.

Education / Experience Requirement

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years’ experience welding stainless steel (mig and tig)
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating and setting up press brakes and shears
AWS Certification is preferred (previous certification will be considered)
Experience working in an environment where quality checks were required
Experience with lean concepts a big plus

Specific Skills Required

Ability to read and interpret blue prints and weld symbols
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Good understanding of set up techniques
Ambition to learn new processes and suggest process improvements
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills - must speak fluent English, bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Self-starter with a team player attitude
Must be flexible with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Physical Demands - Lifting, bending, moving heavy objects, be able to stand for long periods of time.

Work Environment - HVAC Climate Controlled

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
