Patient Assistance Program CoordinatorLocation: Glendale, CA (In Office)

Full-Time

Help Cancer Patients Access the Care They Need

Not all superheroes wear scrubs.

Every day, cancer patients face an overwhelming maze of insurance requirements, prior authorizations, financial concerns, and administrative barriers while trying to focus on what matters most: getting treatment.

We're looking for a Patient Assistance Program Coordinator who refuses to accept "no" as the final answer when a patient needs help.

This role is for someone who is passionate about patient advocacy, thrives on solving complex problems, and genuinely cares about making life easier for oncology patients and their families. You'll serve as a critical resource for patients, providers, manufacturers, and support programs to help patients gain access to lifesaving therapies and financial assistance.

What You'll Do

Advocate relentlessly on behalf of patients navigating treatment and affordability challenges.
Research and identify financial assistance opportunities, copay programs, grants, and manufacturer support resources.
Guide patients through enrollment and application processes.
Work directly with healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, foundations, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Follow up persistently and proactively to remove barriers that may delay patient care.
Track case progress and maintain detailed documentation.
Build trusted relationships with patients and become a dependable source of support during a challenging time in their lives.
Serve as a liaison between multiple stakeholders to ensure patients receive timely access to treatment.

QualificationsRequired

2 years of healthcare experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassion, resilience, and a patient-first mindset.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to listen and speak clearly while using the telephone
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work as part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with patient medical information

Preferred

Oncology experience.
Background in medical assisting, medical administration, patient services, clinical research, nursing support, healthcare coordination, or a related field.
Patient assistance, reimbursement, insurance, specialty pharmacy, prior authorization, or patient access experience.
Experience working with patients facing complex medical conditions.
Bilingual fluency.
