Full Job Description

Yzer is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the overall accounting function of the organization. In a logistics environment, this role manages a high volume of transportation-related invoices, including freight, fuel, warehousing, maintenance, and vendor service expenses, while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Location: 12470 Telecom Drive Tampa, FL 33637 (Onsite ONLY)

Pay Scale: $20-24 per hour

Hours: 40 standard M-F starting at 8:00AM

Job Responsibilities:

Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.

Match invoices with purchase orders, freight bills, receiving documents, and supporting documentation.

Verify invoice coding and ensure proper general ledger account allocation.

Process weekly check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other payment methods.

Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues.

Maintain organized accounts payable files and records.

Monitor aging reports and ensure payments are made according to agreed-upon terms.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

Support audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.

Review freight, fuel, carrier, warehouse, maintenance, and logistics-related invoices for accuracy.

Collaborate with Operations, Dispatch, Procurement, and Finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.

Assist with process improvements and AP workflow optimization.

Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1–3 years of Accounts Payable, Accounting Clerk, or Bookkeeping experience preferred.
Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, warehousing, or supply chain environments is a plus.
Experience processing high-volume invoices preferred.

Skills:

Knowledge of accounts payable principles and accounting practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Basic understanding of freight billing, transportation charges, and logistics operations is preferred.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
