Full Job Description

SMT Operator I – 2nd Shift
Location: Seymour, CT
Pay: $21.00–$23.00/hour (based on experience)
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Openings: 3

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented SMT Operators to join a growing electronics manufacturing team in Seymour, CT. This position is responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards and electronic products within a high-mix manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production setting.

Responsibilities:

Operate SMT production equipment including screen printers, solder paste inspection systems, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens
Load and unload materials and components into production equipment
Monitor machine performance and production output
Perform visual inspections to verify product quality and identify defects
Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality procedures
Troubleshoot minor production and equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Adhere to all company safety, quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production goals are met

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
0–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
SMT or electronics manufacturing experience is a plus
Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Willingness to learn new skills and processes
Ability to work 2nd shift on a consistent basis

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating SMT equipment
Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience
Familiarity with electronic components and printed circuit board assembly
IPC-A-610 certification or related electronics manufacturing training

Compensation:

$21.00–$23.00/hour based on experience
Contract-to-hire opportunity
Employees who successfully transition to permanent employment may become eligible for an additional $2.00/hour shift differential in accordance with company policy
