Store Manager – Pawn Shop

Reports to: Operations Manager

About Us

Legacy Pawn is a fast-paced, customer-focused pawn shop serving the local community with fair deals on loans, quality pre-owned merchandise, and exceptional service. We specialize in jewelry, electronics, tools, firearms, and more. We pride ourselves on integrity, quick service, and building long-term customer relationships.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Store Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations of our pawn shop. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a retail environment, has excellent people skills, and understands the unique aspects of the pawn industry (buying, selling, and collateral loans). You will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory, ensuring compliance, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of sales associates

- Oversee all daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash management, and security protocols

- Manage the pawn loan process: evaluate merchandise, negotiate terms, and ensure accurate loan documentation

- Drive sales of retail merchandise (jewelry, electronics, tools, firearms, etc.) through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer engagement

- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits

- Handle customer transactions, complaints, and inquiries with professionalism and fairness

- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (including ATF for firearms, pawn licensing, and reporting requirements)

- Monitor and control store expenses, shrinkage, and profitability

- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members

- Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers and the local community

- Stay current on market trends for gold, electronics, tools, and other pawnable items

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of retail management experience (pawn shop, jewelry store, or high-volume retail preferred)

- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing profitable operations

- Strong knowledge of pawn industry practices, loan processes, and merchandise valuation is highly preferred but not required

- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays

- High level of integrity, honesty, and attention to detail

- Must be able to pass a background check (including criminal and credit history

- Firearms knowledge and/or ATF compliance experience is a plus

- Comfortable handling cash and high-value items
