Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mastercam CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and implement CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, utilizing Mastercam software. Your expertise will ensure precise, efficient production of complex components while adhering to strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and proficiency in CAD/CAM programming, supporting our commitment to manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam for milling machines and lathes to produce high-precision parts
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining operations
- Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for part design and tooling development
- Apply GD&T principles to verify tolerances and ensure component quality
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring optimal performance
- Conduct toolpath verification, simulation, and troubleshooting to prevent errors during production
- Use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality inspection
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and machining processes for traceability
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement lean manufacturing principles for process efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing machining processes and recommending enhancements
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming with Mastercam software in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and other CNC machine interfaces
- Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling, machining operations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measurement instruments
- Experience with CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a high-volume production setting
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply mathematical concepts in programming
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety standards
