We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly collaborative Full-Time Bookkeeper to join our premier home performance firm. In this vital role, you will work hand in hand with our Operations Manager and our external CPA to oversee the company's day-to-day financial operations. You will ensure strict compliance with accounting standards, maintain precise financial records, and provide the critical data and cost analyses needed to support strategic, profitable decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring highly accurate, real-time posting of all financial transactions.
- Core Accounting Cycles: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, accounts receivable (including proactive collections), payroll administration, and daily cash flow.
- Period-End Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to keep leadership informed.
2. Operational Partnership & Cost Analysis
- Efficiency Analysis: Analyze installation and project efficiency to optimize cash flow and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
- Operations Collaboration: Partner closely with the Operations Manager to evaluate the financial impacts of scheduling changes, inventory purchasing, and staffing adjustments.
- Payroll & Compensation: Collaborate directly with the Operations Manager on field payroll, commissions, and compensation-related issues.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategy
- Budget Development: Assist the Operations Manager in building annual budgets and forecasting financial performance.
- Variance Tracking: Monitor actual performance against target budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective operational actions.
- Strategic Support: Provide clear cost control insights and financial reports to support leadership in strategic planning.
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- CPA Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison to our external CPA to prepare for year-end taxes, support audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all financial practices comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Asset Safeguarding: Preserve strong internal controls to secure company assets and prevent discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in contracting, HVAC, or construction industries (but not required)
- Software Mastery: Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, job costing, and cost accounting.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical ability, sharp attention to detail, strong organization, and outstanding communication skills.

Your success in this role will be measured by:
- Financial Accuracy: Error-free ledger maintenance, timely reconciliations, and precise reporting.
- Budget Performance: Effective tracking and analysis that helps keep company expenditures aligned with target budgets.
- Cash Flow Management: Proactive monitoring of incoming and outgoing capital to ensure healthy liquidity.
- Accounts Receivable: Minimizing outstanding collections and maintaining a low Average Days Delinquent (ADD) rate.
