Full Job Description

1.0 PURPOSE

To ensure continual leadership and support for all employees through individual responsibilities and authority to assist in maintaining a suitable, adequate and effective ISO 13485:2016 compliant quality management system.
To develop and maintain good working relationships with all vendors of Forum Plastics Inc.
To work with the management of Forum Plastics Inc to seek new and supportive vendors that will aid our quest to grow our company.
To establish and manage purchasing best practices across all functional areas

2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITY

Assist in achieving short term strategic company profit and growth goals.
Manage supplier selection and competitive bidding process focused on service, quality and cost
Keep Forum Management appropriately informed of issues and developments.

· Identify, evaluate and develop new supplier opportunities.

· Establish strong working relationships and communications directly with suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries

· Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information for raw materials

· Maintain Forum Approved Supplier List and manage the supplier performance appraisals process.

· Proactively report product and material availability issues

· Monitor and maintain raw material master data; revise essential system planning data to ensure system is effectively planning future requirements

· Coordinate and confirm inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials to support production

· Complete special projects and assignments as requested

· Take a proactive approach in reviewing current purchasing systems and procedures, make recommendations and implement changes

· Coordinate resolutions to Supplier Quality concerns to ensure timely and effective containment and long-term resolution of each concern

· This position requires the ability to occasionally lift no more than 25 pounds.

3.0 DUTIES

· Provide rapid and sound resolution to production disruptions.

· Monitor and maintain raw material master data and revise essential system planning data to ensure system is effectively planning future requirements.

· Implement purchasing best practices and continuous improvement processes across all functional areas.

· Perform other duties as required.

4.0 EDUCATION

· B.S. degree or similar work experience in a purchasing functional role

5.0 EXPERIENCE

· Regulatory and medical device knowledge

· Plastics Industry knowledge preferred

· Experience in Purchasing in an ERP environment using MRP

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

· Aptitude for developing data driven decisions driven by the bottom-line business goals.

· Skilled in building working relationships with coworkers, customers and suppliers based on trust. Ability to broker effective compromise based on company goals.

· Capacity to effectively evaluate and accept reasonable levels of risk.

· Requires a high degree of hands on and detail level problem solving.

· Flexibility in working hours and willing to work overtime when required to get the job done.
