Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial operations of two closely affiliated companies, Marina Development, Inc. (MDI) and Hydra Service. Working across both organizations, this position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, and assisting with budgeting and financial planning.

This is a hands-on accounting role with a manageable transaction volume that offers variety and the opportunity to work with two complementary businesses. Reporting directly to the President, you'll own the month-end close process, partner with leadership on financial reporting and forecasting, and help drive informed business decisions.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization through accurate accounting practices and sound financial management.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations using QuickBooks Online
Own the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements
Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, working closely with the Accounting Assistant to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions
Perform bank and account reconciliations
Monitor company cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning
Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Analyze financial performance and identify trends or opportunities for improvement
Partner with company leadership by providing timely financial reporting and recommendations
Maintain accurate corporate financial records and supporting documentation

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
Experience owning the month-end close process.
Experience preparing financial statements
Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Strong bank reconciliation experience
Budgeting and cash flow forecasting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

Manufacturing or construction accounting experience
Job costing and inventory accounting experience
Knowledge of GAAP
Experience supporting executive leadership with financial reporting
