Full Job Description

Stool PCR & Antigen Testing — General Supervisor / Solo Lab Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated laboratory professional to work independently in our molecular diagnostics lab performing stool PCR and antigen testing. This dual-role position carries both supervisory and hands-on technical responsibilities in a low-volume, solo lab environment. Hours are flexible and the schedule is 2–3 days per week, processing approximately 200 stool samples per month (16–24 hours per week).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform PCR and antigen testing on stool specimens as the sole on-site technician
Oversee all day-to-day laboratory operations and maintain workflow independently
Maintain Quality Assurance (QA) programs and documentation
Manage and complete Proficiency Testing (PT) requirements on schedule
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for CLIA
Maintain accurate records, logs, and chain-of-custody documentation
Troubleshoot instrument and assay issues and escalate as appropriate

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year of PCR laboratory experience required
Experience with stool PCR or gastrointestinal molecular testing preferred
Ability to work independently and manage all lab functions without direct supervision
Demonstrated understanding of QA principles and proficiency testing protocols
ASCP certification or equivalent preferred; General Supervisor qualifications per CLIA must be met

Job Type: Part-Time | 16–24 hrs/week | 2–3 days/week | Flexible hours

Pay: $28.19 - $33.96 per hour
