Full Job Description

Assignment Overview

Shift: Days, 5x7.5hrs
Hours: 37.5 hrs/wk
Start Date: Sep 8, 2026
Length: 13 weeks
Openings: 1

Description

American Traveler is hiring two Endoscopy Technicians for a 13-week outpatient endoscopy center assignment requiring at least 1 year of GI/Endo tech experience and BLS certification.

Details

Outpatient endoscopy center setting serving adult patients
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x7.5 hour shifts from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM
No weekends required
Staffing ratio of 1:5 during day shifts
Utilizes Epic for documentation
Common procedures include colonoscopy and EGD

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy Technician experience required
BLS certification required
Epic charting experience required
Experience in an outpatient endoscopy setting strongly preferred
NY state license required if applicable
Comfortable working with endoscopes, electrosurgical units, ERBE equipment, forceps, polyp snares, and washer/sterilizer systems
Experience with scope reprocessing for colonoscopes, EGD scopes, and EUS scopes preferred
Experience with High-Level Disinfection (HLD) protocols preferred

Additional Information

Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures including biopsies and procedure setup
Prepare and maintain procedure rooms before, during, and after cases
Clean, disinfect, and process endoscopes and instrumentation per HLD protocols
Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing for pathology and cytology
Perform room turnover, restock supplies, and maintain a clean procedural environment
Follow infection prevention standards and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
Purple scrubs required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Returning NYU staff must wait one year before becoming eligible to return as a traveler
COVID vaccination required with no exceptions
