Overview

Part-Time Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish Speaking)

Medcare, is seeking an experienced, skilled, and compassionate Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Medical Assistant to join our team in Brooklyn, NY on a part-time basis.

In this role, the Medical Assistant will provide essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers while helping ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

This position plays an important role in delivering high-quality care by assisting with patient intake, preparing patients for examinations, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting providers during clinical visits. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to a diverse patient population, and we are looking for a candidate who shares that commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting during clinical procedures.
Perform clinical tasks such as collecting specimens, performing phlebotomy, and conducting basic diagnostic procedures as directed by providers.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring equipment is properly sterilized and supplies are stocked.
Accurately document patient information, clinical notes, and procedures within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Support patient intake by verifying patient information, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Provide patient education by reinforcing treatment plans, medication instructions, and self-care guidance as directed by providers.
Assist with scheduling patient appointments and coordinating follow-up care.
Support clinical workflow and collaborate with providers and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a hospital, clinic, or physician practice.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience performing vital signs, specimen collection, injections, and phlebotomy.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Availability to work Saturdays is required.

Preferred

Medical Assistant certification.
Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Experience working in primary care, urgent care, or outpatient settings.
