Full Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on General Manager to run a high-performing restaurant from the ground up. You'll own every facet of daily operations from - floor culture and guest experience to staff development and quality control - and be the standard-bearer for what great hospitality looks like in practice.

Nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s trendiest neighborhood, this two-level concept bar is set to redefine New York nightlife. Upstairs, an art-infused cocktail lounge offers a sophisticated escape with craft cocktails and elevated small plates, appealing to the city’s cultural and creative elite. Downstairs, an electrifying Italo disco invites guests to lose themselves on the dance floor until the early hours. With a unique combination of artistic ambiance, upscale clientele, and a dual-experience format!

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

● Leadership & Operations

● Oversee nightly operations and service standards, ensuring consistency, safety,

and guest satisfaction.

● Hire, train, and lead front‐of‐house teams (bar manager, hosts, service staff, door

personnel).

● Create staffing schedules, conduct shift briefings, and manage closing

procedures.

● Implement and maintain cost controls (labor scheduling, inventory oversight,

waste reduction).

● Guest Experience & VIP Relations

● Steward the guest experience and brand standards.

● Manage VIP lists, reservations, bottle service, and high‐profile events.

● Resolve guest issues with discretion and ensure exceptional hospitality.

● Ambiance, Programming & Brand

● Oversee ambiance and vibe across both levels (lighting, music coordination,

pacing), collaborating with the Music Director and creative partners.

● Support execution of programming, art installations, and special events aligned

with Bar Leone’s aesthetic.

● Team Development & Culture

● Mentor managers and staff, conduct performance check‐ins, and cultivate a

team‐first, guest‐centric culture.

● Implement training for service standards and safety compliance.

● Partnerships & Events

● Coordinate with vendors, liquor partners, and event promoters.

● Oversee execution of private events and promotional nights to maximize revenue

and brand exposure.

Scope Clarification

● Responsible for cost controls and operational efficiency, but not required to manage full

P&L reporting or ownership financial accounting.

Key Qualifications

● Proven leadership in upscale nightlife or cocktail venues (GM or senior operations role

preferred).

● Strong knowledge of high‐end service culture and cocktail program operations.

● Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and polished presentation.

● Ability to thrive in fast‐paced service environments and adapt in real time.

Physical Aspects of the Role

Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
