Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day nursing operations across the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) levels of care. This role serves as the primary clinical nursing resource for patients, providers, and staff, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant nursing services throughout the organization.

The Nurse Manager provides clinical support to the Medical Director, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner(s), and interdisciplinary treatment team while maintaining oversight of medication management processes, pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and patient care coordination. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility for nursing personnel but serves as the operational leader for nursing services and medication management activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Operations

Coordinate and oversee daily nursing operations across PHP, IOP, and OP programs.
Serve as a clinical resource for patients, providers, and staff regarding nursing-related issues.
Conduct nursing assessments and patient consultations as needed.
Triage patient concerns, medication-related issues, and clinical matters requiring nursing intervention.
Facilitate communication between patients, providers, family members, pharmacies, and treatment teams.
Ensure continuity of care across all levels of treatment.

Provider Support

Support Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Medical Director in daily clinical operations.
Enter and process medication orders and provider directives within the electronic health record.
Coordinate laboratory orders, diagnostic testing, and medication monitoring requirements.
Prepare information and documentation necessary for provider appointments and clinical reviews.
Assist with medication prior authorizations and pharmacy communications as needed.

Medication Management & Pharmacy Operations

Oversee medication inventory management and stock medication processes.
Maintain appropriate medication storage, security, documentation, and disposal procedures.
Monitor medication counts, expiration dates, controlled substance logs, and inventory reconciliation.
Coordinate medication ordering and replenishment activities.
Investigate and resolve medication discrepancies, variances, and related incidents.
Ensure medication administration and handling practices comply with applicable regulations and organizational policies.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

Maintain compliance with Department of Health (DOH), DEA, Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary nursing liaison during pharmacy inspections, licensing surveys, regulatory reviews, and site visits.
Partner with the organization's Pharmacy Consultant to ensure ongoing pharmacy compliance.
Conduct routine audits of medication records, logs, storage areas, and pharmacy operations.
Develop and implement corrective action plans when compliance gaps are identified.
Assist with policy development, revision, and implementation related to nursing and medication management.

Documentation & Record Management

Ensure timely, accurate, and complete nursing documentation.
Maintain medication administration records and related clinical documentation.
Monitor compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Support quality improvement initiatives related to nursing services and patient safety.

Patient Care Coordination

Meet with patients to address clinical concerns and medication-related questions.
Coordinate care with external providers, pharmacies, hospitals, and community resources.
Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care.
Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations.
Support patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and health-related concerns.

QualificationsEducation

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure

Current and unrestricted RN or LPN license in the State of Florida.
Current CPR/BLS certification.

Experience

Minimum of three to five years of nursing experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, substance use disorder, or outpatient treatment settings.
Experience supporting psychiatric providers and medication management processes preferred.
Experience with pharmacy compliance, medication inventory management, and regulatory inspections strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Department of Health and pharmacy regulatory requirements preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health nursing practices.
Understanding of medication management, pharmacy operations, and controlled substance requirements.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations governing behavioral healthcare services.
Excellent assessment, triage, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across multiple treatment locations.
Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
