Job Overview

Join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites as a Front Desk Agent and help us deliver the simple, smart, and welcoming experience our guests expect from the IHG brand.

As a Front Desk Agent, you are one of the first and last people our guests interact with during their stay. You will be responsible for creating a positive first impression, providing efficient check-in and check-out service, assisting guests throughout their stay, and helping ensure the Front Desk and hotel operate smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, professional, and comfortable taking initiative. Hospitality experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who brings a positive attitude and a genuine desire to take care of our guests.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet and welcome every guest while providing friendly, professional service.
Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently using the hotel's property management system.
Recognize IHG One Rewards members and thank them for their loyalty.
Educate eligible guests about IHG One Rewards and assist with new member enrollments.
Answer hotel phones professionally and assist with reservations, questions, directions, and general hotel information.
Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and complaints while working to provide an appropriate resolution.
Maintain accurate reservations, guest profiles, payment information, and Front Desk records.
Process payments, credit card authorizations, deposits, and other Front Desk transactions according to hotel procedures.
Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast, and Management to address guest needs and operational concerns.
Monitor room status and communicate with Housekeeping to help ensure rooms are ready for arriving guests.
Provide guests with information about hotel amenities, breakfast, Wi-Fi, local restaurants, attractions, and the surrounding area.
Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and professional Front Desk and lobby area.
Complete assigned Front Desk checklists, logs, shift responsibilities, and required documentation.
Follow hotel procedures regarding guest privacy, payment security, key control, safety, and emergencies.
Assist with resolving problems rather than simply passing them to another team member whenever possible.
Support additional hotel operations as needed to provide a great guest experience.

Qualifications & Skills

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Friendly, professional, and welcoming personality.
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to remain professional and composed when handling guest concerns or challenging situations.
Comfortable using computers, email, reservation systems, and other hotel technology.
Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with a hotel property management system is a plus.
Ability to learn and follow IHG brand standards and hotel-specific procedures.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy periods.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
