Front Desk Supervisor

The Brunswick Hotel | Brunswick, Maine

Join Our Team

The Brunswick Hotel is seeking an energetic, service-focused Front Desk Supervisor to lead our Guest Services team. Located in the heart of downtown Brunswick adjacent to Bowdoin College, our boutique hotel is known for genuine hospitality, personalized service, and creating memorable guest experiences. As Front Desk Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring every guest receives exceptional service while supporting, coaching, and developing our front office team.

Position Summary

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front Desk, ensuring smooth guest arrivals and departures, maintaining brand service standards, and supporting the Front Office Manager in leading the Guest Services team. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys mentoring others, solving problems, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the daily operation of the Front Desk during assigned shifts.
Provide exceptional guest service from arrival through departure.
Coach, mentor, and support Guest Service Associates to maintain high service standards.
Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
Resolve guest concerns quickly, professionally, and with a hospitality-first mindset.
Ensure accurate check-in/check-out procedures, billing, and cash handling.
Coordinate room status and special requests with Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Monitor room inventory and maximize occupancy opportunities.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and performance feedback.
Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records.
Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of hotel front desk experience required.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Experience with hotel property management systems (Stayntouch PMS experience is a plus).
Strong guest recovery and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
