Full Job Description

The Alotian Club is seeking to hire a Fine Dining Professional (FDP) to execute and uphold the ultimate fine dining experience for our members and guests. Candidates must have a Guests First attitude, be strong orators and have a highly professional appearance and demeanor. Candidates that will be successful take a sense of pride in a job well done. They come prepared for the day with a positive attitude and “all hands on deck” mentality. Strong candidates are willing to assist in any way to ensure the highest quality member experience. They are good communicators, team players, are personable and motivated individuals with the ability to multi-task and work well in both slow and fast-paced environments.

A Day in the Life

The Fine Dining Professional (FDP) is a highly skilled and knowledgeable food and beverage expert with a passion for providing unique and memorable experiences. The FDP is responsible for all aspects of dinner service, including preparation, execution, breakdown and reset. At The Alotian Club, anticipation and preparation is the name of the game and is representative of daily responsibilities. Occasionally a FDP may be responsible for F&B outlets in the on-site cottages & out on the golf course. The Alotian Club prides itself on creating a unique and customized experience for every member and guest, which requires a passion for service, commitment to excellence, creativity, and flexibility as no two days are ever the same.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Must have a strong understanding of service and hospitality concepts, and the poise required for elevated service
Possess complete knowledge of the dinner menu and be able to answer any menu questions from members/guests (i.e. allergens, dietary restrictions, preparation methods, etc.)
Possess complete knowledge of the beverages & liquors available and craft high quality, finely presented cocktails
Expertly and elegantly conduct a menu walkthrough for each table as a part of the fine dining experience
Ability to carry plates to and from all dining areas including outdoors and up/down stairs
Must obtain knowledge of members names and preferences
Required to bill member charges through the use of JONAS point of sale system
Communicate any issues with food service or dining issues to the Dining Room Manager, F&B Manager(s), and/or Clubhouse Manager in a timely manner
Understanding of the game of golf and how it relates to F&B responsibilities
Follow Club procedures for handling and storing food products in a safe and sanitary manner
Provide in-person refreshments to golfers on the course when necessary
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Food & Beverage Manager(s) and/or Clubhouse Manager

Requirements

Preferred Skills

Previous bartending experience
Previous fine dining service and/or experience with synchronized service
Previous club experience

Work Schedule

Must be able to work a flexible schedule of primarily nights and weekends, with some holidays when needed. This is a full time position.

Work Environment

Must be able to work continually standing and walking during a shift. Must be able to stand 7-10 hours a day. Must be able to handle beer and liquor. Position requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work nights/weekends/holidays as becomes necessary. Occasional off-site duties in catering may be requested. Appropriate understanding and presentation of all food and beverage products to guests and members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is most always required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart and must have a valid driver’s license. The employee is most always required to talk and/or hear. The employee is constantly required to use their vision to perform an activity such as but not limited to: restocking product and supplies, speaking to members and guests, setting up dining areas for reservations and working with other departments to complete given tasks.
