Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Treatment Nurse RN to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in wound care management and be proficient in assessing and treating various types of wounds. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with wounds, including evaluation of wound healing progress and identification of complications.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs, incorporating evidence-based practices for wound management.
Administer treatments such as dressings, debridement, and other wound care interventions.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and provide updates on patient status.
Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and overall health management.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care practices.
Wound Care Certification

Skills

Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Experience with critical care, acute care, or long-term care settings.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
Familiarity with various treatment modalities including IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and pain management techniques.
Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
Experience working in diverse environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, or home care settings.
Ability to work effectively with patients who have developmental disabilities or require memory care.
Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. The Wound Nurse RN will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through expert wound management.
