WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Scale BDR on the General Business team is the engine behind Braze's mid-market growth. You'll partner with Account Executives to identify, engage, and qualify prospects at companies with up to 1,000 employees, helping B2C brands discover how Braze can transform their customer engagement.

This is a high-impact role where you'll blend volume-driven outreach with personalized, consultative prospecting. You'll research accounts, craft relevant messaging, and create opportunities that directly fuel Braze's pipeline.

Every individual has a personal quota, and shares a team goal. The team is collaborative, communicative and we are always the first to take action. There's a lot of support and camaraderie with plenty of room to be proactive and take control of your own sales success.

BDRs gain huge value from working together at our offices. BDRs at Braze have a hybrid schedule, which means they will be in office a minimum of 3 days a week at either Chicago or Austin location. This allows our team to thrive in a learning environment together.

Responsibilities:

Prospect into mid-market accounts across industries like retail, media, fintech, and travel
Generate qualified meetings for the Scale AE team through outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn)
Research accounts to identify pain points around customer engagement, cross-channel messaging, and data activation
Collaborate with AEs to develop territory strategies and prioritize high-potential accounts
Manage your own meetings, bringing in internal stakeholders as needed
Maintain accurate activity and pipeline data in Salesforce

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Consistently hitting or exceeding monthly meeting and pipeline targets
Building a repeatable outreach motion that balances efficiency with personalization
Developing strong product knowledge to speak credibly about Braze's value to prospects

Ultimate success for a Scale BDR is to generate the volume and value of deals required to hit quota, and bring great new brands to Braze. The commission plan is uncapped, so once you hit quota, you can keep on earning. There is advancement potential for consistently successful BDRs, with personalized development plans, coaching and internal resources to plan for the next rewarding role at Braze

WHO YOU ARE

Experience: 6+ months in outbound prospecting in sales, customer-facing, or high-activity roles
- We encourage candidates early in their sales career to apply training and ramp support is built into this role
Communication:Strong written and verbal skills; ability to craft compelling, concise outreach and explain your reasoning, not just your results
Coachability: Eager to learn, take feedback, and iterate quickly
Resilience: Comfortable with rejection; motivated by targets and competition, not discouraged by "no"
Curiosity:Genuine interest in martech, SaaS, and how brands connect with customers
Organization: Ability to manage high volume without sacrificing quality or personalization

NICE TO HAVE:

Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar sales tools
Familiarity with the customer engagement, marketing automation, or CDP space
Background in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $45,000 and $54,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $75,000 and $90,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
