Customer Service Specialist

Overview:
StaffBuffalo is working with a global trading and logistics organization to hire a full-time Customer Service Specialist. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international business environment and enjoys managing multiple moving parts at once. In this position, you will support high-value contracts and shipments, ensuring each order is executed accurately from start to finish.

Based in Getzville, NY, this on-site role partners closely with internal commercial teams, customers, suppliers, warehouses, and freight providers. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and confident communicating with domestic and international partners. This is a great opportunity for someone curious about global trade, logistics, and supply chain operations who wants long-term growth and exposure in an international environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage customer service responsibilities for assigned customers and contracts
Handle purchase orders, phone and email inquiries, and order-related questions
Oversee documentation including letters of credit, bills of lading, invoices, and warehouse records
Coordinate with warehouses, producers, and trucking companies to ensure shipments meet specifications
Negotiate freight rates and approve logistics-related costs as needed
Troubleshoot shipment issues, including rerouting freight and resolving delays
Monitor accounts receivable, billing, and invoicing to ensure customers remain current

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Supply Chain preferred
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred
Experience with contracts, logistics, or supply chain operations highly valued
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including international correspondence
High attention to detail and comfort managing high-value shipments
Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems and multitask across multiple screens
Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Benefits:

Salary range of $55,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience
Year-end bonus program based on individual and company performance
