Since 1955, BryLin Hospital has been at the forefront of behavioral healthcare in Upstate New York, providing short-term crisis psychiatric care for individuals of all ages. Our commitment to evidence-based, person-centered, and trauma-sensitive care sets us apart as an industry leader.

Full Time, 8:00am-4:00pm

As a Recreational Therapist OR COTA at BryLin Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being of our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting therapeutic assessments and collecting data to inform individualized treatment plans.
Developing and implementing recreational therapy interventions to address the unique needs of each patient.
Participating actively in multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure holistic care.
Leading group sessions and designing group programming to promote therapeutic outcomes.
Recommending and incorporating alternative therapies such as art, music, yoga, and more into individualized patient programming.

Recreational Therapist requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited institution.
Certification as a Recreational Therapist.

OR for a COTA:

Requirements:

Educational Background: Associate degree completed.
Certification: Board Certification with NBCOT.
Licensing: NYS Education Dept. License.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage with patients from diverse backgrounds.
A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
