Dryer Vent Wizard is hiring an experienced residential service technician for route-based field work in the South Bay area, including Torrance, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Gardena, Lawndale, Lomita, Carson, West Carson, Harbor City, Wilmington, San Pedro, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
This is not an entry-level cleaning job. We are looking for someone who already has real hands-on field-service experience, such as HVAC, appliance repair, dryer vent work, duct cleaning, maintenance, installation, handyman, or similar mechanical service work.
We provide premium residential and selected commercial dryer vent services, including inspections, cleaning, repairs, reroutes, code-correct installations, dryer delinting, airflow troubleshooting, and related dryer component work. Many systems we see are poorly built, unsafe, inefficient, or non-compliant. Our job is to identify the real problem and fix it properly.
This is a premium residential service role. Speed matters, but care matters more. The right person protects floors and walls, keeps the work area clean, communicates clearly, documents the job properly, and makes the customer comfortable having us in their home.
You will work in uniform, drive a branded company vehicle after onboarding and route readiness, and represent a professional, established operation — not a one-man handyman setup. We are a CSLB-licensed company and part of Dryer Vent Wizard, an established franchise brand with locations across the United States.
This is a route-based field role. After onboarding and route readiness, technicians are assigned a branded company vehicle, company tools, and a daily service route. Technicians work independently, represent the brand directly, and are responsible for company tools, materials, documentation, vehicle organization, and following company process without close supervision.
What you will do
- Perform dryer vent inspections, cleaning, repairs, reroutes, and new installations
- Perform dryer delinting and related dryer component disassembly/reassembly
- Identify airflow, safety, code, workmanship, and performance issues
- Explain findings and recommended solutions clearly and professionally to customers
- Take required before/after photos and complete job documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect customer property
- Work safely in the field, including ladders, roofs, attics, crawlspaces, and other jobsite conditions when required
- Drive a company vehicle after onboarding and route readiness
- Manage a daily service route efficiently
- Keep tools, materials, and vehicle organized
- Serve residential customers as well as selected commercial customers such as salons and multi-unit properties
What we are looking for
- Prior hands-on field-service, repair, installation, HVAC, appliance, dryer vent, duct cleaning, maintenance, or strong handyman experience required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Professional communication and customer-facing maturity
- High standards for cleanliness, safety, and workmanship
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable working independently in occupied homes and active businesses
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and management, both verbally and in writing
- Comfortable following a structured process and company standards consistently without close supervision
- Comfortable taking required job photos and completing written job notes
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to perform physical field work and safely lift, carry, climb, and work with tools
- Comfortable with ladders, roofs, attics, crawlspaces, and dirty work when required
Compensation
$30.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on experience, ramp-up stage, reliability, and performance.
Monthly performance bonus available.
Strong performers can earn approximately $80,000 to $90,000+ annually through top-tier hourly compensation, performance bonus, and overtime.
Paid training during ramp-up period.
Schedule
- Full-time
- In-person field work
- Los Angeles, Westside, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and South Bay
- Paid trial or paid ride-along may be used as part of the hiring process for qualified candidates
Hiring process
Finalists should expect a structured hiring process. We are selective because technicians work independently, represent the brand directly, and enter occupied homes and businesses.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of job-related screening, which may include interviews, reference checks, motor vehicle record review, background screening, and verification of work authorization, to the extent permitted by law.
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Benefits:
- On-the-job training
- Paid time off
