Full Job Description

As the Activity Director at Orchard Hill at Sudbury, you will report directly to the Executive Director. The Activities Director develops, implements and conducts programs that appeal to resident interests and maximize their participation in our community.

We are a small, privately owned, assisted living residence that promotes healthy living, friendship and togetherness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Conduct resident lifestyle programming interviews and incorporate information into the development of program activities.
Develop programs that maximize resident participation and motivate residents to take advantage of program offerings and that include a wide range of recreational, social, educational and cultural activities: gross motor, self-care, sensory and social.
Collaborate with the food service director for all events regarding menu, decorations, location, serving dishes and flowers.
Update and maintain a program resource file for referral and use in developing activities. Actively seek out contacts within the community, town and county to determine resources that are available when developing programs.
Manage the department in accordance with the policies and procedures of Orchard Hill Assisted Living, federal, state and local laws and regulations.
All other duties as required and consistent with the education and skills required for this position and those mandated by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE-CERTIFICATION

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Will consider relevant knowledge gained through courses or direct work experience.
1 year developing programs
Valid driver’s license and annual driver safety course. Must keep driver's license in good standing (report from the Registry of Motor Vehicles will be obtained annually on every employee trained to drive the Orchard Hill van) and pass Orchard Hill's orientation.
Food Handler/ServSafe Certification a plus!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
