Day Shift Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations
Summary
The Shift Manager has the overall responsibility for the field technicians assigned to the shift and its results. These results include, but are not limited to, operational efficiency, employee training, performance and client satisfaction. They are responsible for building and cultivating a safety-first culture rooted in mutual trust and respect, fostering accountability and collaboration at every level, and driving continuous innovation. They will manage and coordinate their staff, equipment, and resources, to ensure the successful completion of projects or tasks.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
● Build and cultivate a safety-first culture rooted in mutual trust and respect, fostering accountability and collaboration at every level, and driving continuous innovation.
● Lead, guide, and motivate field staff to ensure they perform their duties safely, efficiently and effectively.
● Assign tasks and responsibilities to field workers based on their skills and expertise.
● Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
● Work with the Client Services team on growing the Kitchen Exhaust, HVAC, Laundry and Fire damper product lines. This includes performing assessments at client sites and providing time, people and materials needed etc.
Resource Management:
● Coordinate and manage the allocation of resources, including staff, equipment, materials, and tools. This includes making changes as necessary to the schedule to optimize productivity.
● Ensure that all resources are used effectively and efficiently to meet project goals.
Quality Assurance:
● Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain high-quality work standards.
● Conduct regular QC inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
Safety Compliance:
● Promote and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
● Investigate and report any safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
Project Planning and Coordination:
● Must have the ability to develop project schedules and plans.
● Monitor progress and ensure projects are on track, making adjustments as necessary.
Client Communication:
● Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on project status and address any concerns.
● Resolve client issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
● Customer engagement skills such as the ability to interact with a client at a jobsite and conduct an assessment in order to provide an estimate for hours and people needed for a specific service. The ability to answer any questions a client has about the services being quoted.
Documentation and Reporting:
● Maintain accurate records of field activities, including training, daily reports, timesheets, and key and equipment logs.
● Prepare and submit regular reports to higher management on project progress and performance.
Problem Solving:
● Identify and resolve issues and challenges that may arise during field operations.
● Make quick and effective decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Training and Development:
● In collaboration with the Shift trainer, provide training and guidance to field staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
● Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, innovation and improvement within the team.
Budget Management:
● Manage the budgeted hours for jobs and projects, including monitoring expenses and controlling costs.
Qualifications and Skills
● Must currently be a Foreman II or higher.
● Must have broad knowledge of kitchen exhaust systems, dryer exhaust systems, HVAC and Fire dampers.
● Ability to read mechanical drawings and diagrams.
● Strong communication skills
● Ability to read and write in English
● Strong organization and leadership skills
● Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
● Proficiency with Google Suite, ServiceTrade, web and mobile applications and any other programs Cochrane Ventilation LLC may utilize.
● Be willing to obtain the NADCA CVI certification.
● Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Day Shift Manager - Additional Requirements
· In this visible day shift role, you will represent our company to senior client executives.
· Success requires top-tier communication abilities and a consistently clean, professional presentation.
· Master the damper process by learning to identify and test various damper types.
· Log all field damper jobs directly into Building Reports while on-site.
· Conduct assessments for HVAC, Kitchen exhaust and damper jobs.
· Deliver detailed HVAC, kitchen exhaust, and damper evaluation reports complete with findings and recommendations.
· Initial review of all Fire damper and HVAC survey reports.
· Update and mark-up drawings
· Proficient in Smartsheets.
Compensation and Benefits
● Hourly: Range $34.00 to $44.00
● For our field employees, we offer premium hours pay of $3.00 per hour for hours worked between the hours of 9pm to 5am.
● Benefits package includes 401K with match, health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, holidays and sick time as outlined in the employee handbook.

Hours: 6am – 2pm Monday through Friday (Please note that schedule times may vary based on actual job scheduling).
