The Burlington School District is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our Student Support Services team. In this role, you will work alongside our Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality occupational therapy services that help students access their education, achieve their IEP goals, and develop the skills needed for success in school and beyond. The position supports students with a wide range of physical, sensory, developmental, and educational needs through direct services, consultation, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.

What You'll Do

Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, educators, special educators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
Assist with occupational therapy screenings and evaluations.
Implement therapeutic interventions that develop fine motor, visual motor, sensory, self-care, communication, adaptive, social, and pre-vocational skills.
Utilize adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and complete required reports and progress notes.
Serve as a resource for school staff and families regarding occupational therapy services and student supports.
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the district.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Current or eligible for Vermont Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure.
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Two or more years of pediatric or school-based occupational therapy experience preferred.
