Full Job Description

Job Description:
BHL Federal is seeking a Pre-Construction Coordinator to support residential construction projects delivered under federal and disaster recovery programs. This role focuses on driving projects from pre-construction into active construction, supporting project setup through scope development, cost estimating, and coordination across internal teams and stakeholders.

This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are fully prepared for execution, with clear scopes, aligned teams, and defined next steps.

Responsibilities: 

Pre-Construction & Estimating
Participate in site walks and document existing conditions
Assist with scopes of work and preliminary cost estimates
Support estimate reviews and confirm project readiness milestones
Identify scope gaps and constructability risks
Pre-Construction Planning
Support and help lead pre-construction meetings
Coordinate with internal teams to align scope, budget, and schedule
Assist with execution planning, logistics, and subcontractor coordination
Transition to Construction
Support the handoff from pre-construction to construction
Coordinate internal transition meetings and confirm project readiness
Ensure teams and subcontractors are aligned prior to mobilization
Change Management
Assist in developing and tracking change orders, including scope, pricing, and documentation
Maintain change logs and support budget alignment
Project Coordination
Coordinate across project teams to maintain progress and communication
Support quality standards and federal program requirements

Career Development & Growth

This position provides structured exposure to estimating and permitting within federally funded and disaster recovery programs. Based on performance and aptitude, potential progression includes:

Pre-Construction Coordinator → Assistant Pre-Construction Manager → Regional Pre-Construction Manager

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project locations
Willingness to occasionally work off-hours or weekends to meet project needs
High School Diploma or GED required;
Coursework or degree in construction, engineering, or related field is preferred.
Experience in construction, estimating, permitting, or project coordination is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work independently while following defined processes and deadlines

Compensation

Salary range: $45,000-$50,000 per year, based on experience
Paid Time Off
Health Insurance and 401(k) offered after initial vesting period

Schedule

Full-time
8-hour shifts
Monday through Friday
In-person: Marion office and project sites

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
