Accounting Manager

Machinery Marketing International, LLC (MMI)
Chicago, IL | Full-Time, In Office

Machinery Marketing International, LLC (MMI) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, multi-entity accounting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and month-end closing.

This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional who is comfortable managing the details of daily accounting operations while also analyzing financial performance and providing accurate, timely information to company leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple companies, accounts, and priorities in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-today accounting operations for multiple related business entities, including general ledger maintenance.
Oversee all Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions and activities, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and account reconciliations.
Lead the end-of-month (EOM) closing process, including bank, credit card, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, cash flow reports and other financial analyses for management.
Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks and develop financial reports and analyses using Microsoft Excel.
Coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and other business partners as needed.
Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Assist with year-end closing, tax preparation, audits, and other financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong hands-on experience managing accounting for multiple business entities, including full cycle Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and general ledger.
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
Extensive experience with month-end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and cash flow management.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will take ownership of the accounting function from the day-to-day details of AR, AP, reconciliations, and transaction management through month-end close, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

We are looking for someone who can identify discrepancies, follow through on outstanding items, maintain accurate records across multiple entities, and provide management with reliable financial information for decision-making.

This position is well suited for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on accounting role in an entrepreneurial, multi-entity business environment and is comfortable improving processes as the organization continues to grow.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
